Lorena Gonzalez Fletcher Bill Would Protect a Woman’s Right to Make Her Own Reproductive Health Decisions

SACRAMENTO  – (Thursday, Sept. 14, 2017) – California State Assemblywoman Lorena Gonzalez Fletcher (D-San Diego) won final Legislative approval of her bill protecting women from being fired for a pregnancy. The Reproductive Health Non-Discrimination Act would also prevent an employer for firing or disciplining a woman for making any other decision related to her reproductive health. The bill now heads to the Governor, who has until Oct. 15 to either sign or veto the proposal.

SACRAMENTO  – (Thursday, Sept. 14, 2017) – California State Assemblywoman Lorena Gonzalez Fletcher (D-San Diego) today won final Legislative approval of her bill requiring that public schools test for lead in their water, a common-sense measure that will help protect kids and keep parents informed of health risks. The bill now heads to the Governor, who has until Oct. 15 to sign or veto it.

SACRAMENTO  – (Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2017) – California State Assemblywoman Lorena Gonzalez Fletcher (D-San Diego) today won final Legislative approval of her bill that would make sure parents know whether a school has classified their child as a “long-term English Learner” or an “at risk, long-term English learner” and what the implications of that classification might be. The bill now heads to the Governor’s desk.

Lorena Gonzalez Fletcher Bill Would Help Struggling Families Enjoy State’s Coastline

SACRAMENTO  – (Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2017) – California State Assemblywoman Lorena Gonzalez Fletcher (D-San Diego) won final approval from the state Legislature of her bill to make California’s spectacular coastline and beaches more affordable for visitors. The bill, which would require the State Coastal Conservancy to establish a program for low-cost beach accommodations, now heads to the Governor’s desk.
